Chi Yan Chan has extensive work experience in various industries. Starting in the mid-1980s, Chan worked as a Marketing Executive at Nestle S.A. before moving on to Exxon Chemical, where they held roles as a Business Analyst, Distribution Planner, and Business Services Supervisor in the Asia Pacific Region. In 1991, Chan joined PepsiCo, where they took on multiple roles, including Planning Manager, Planning Director for the China Business Unit, Senior Finance Director for South Cluster Bottling Operations, and Senior Region Financial Planning & Analysis Director for the Greater China Region. Chan also led the PepsiCo/Tingyi Alliance Integration Project Management Office, overseeing a complex integration project. In 2016, they joined Dairy Farm Group as the Finance Director for the North Asia Food division and later became the Project Lead for China Expansion. In 2015, Chan became an Independent Non-Executive Director at Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited. Throughout their career, Chan has demonstrated financial acumen, strategic leadership, and expertise in project management and integration.

Chi Yan Chan completed a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Marketing/Marketing Management, General from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Administrative & Financial Studies from Western University. Before their undergraduate studies, Chan attended St Stephen's Girls' College for their secondary education. The field of study for their secondary degree is unspecified.
