We’re Looking for an ‘A’ Player

We are looking for a driven person with strong computer and organizational skills.  The IT Support Specialist provides effective and timely resolution over a range of end-user inquiries which will require technical knowledge. Supports and manages end-user hardware and software, and assists end-users with all manner of computing procedures, maintaining a high level of customer service. This person will have significant responsibility over this critical aspect of our business, SOC compliance and have technical freedoms to incorporate new IT improvement processes.  

Location:  West Des Moines, Iowa - Hybrid; 4 days in office and 1 day remote

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the company equipment from new hires to everyday needs; tracking all computer’s lifecycles, ordering new equipment, setting up all new hire computer systems, creating accounts and managing all new/existing accounts.
  • Creating and managing an internal ticketing system for all IT help desk needs.
  • Performs hardware troubleshooting and repairs, maintains equipment, and recommends upgrades to enable the company to make the most effective use of technology.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain internal software applications and systems.
  • Administer user accounts and permissions across various systems and applications.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits related to Security compliance.
  • Implement and monitor controls to maintain compliance with SOC requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to SOC compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to address and resolve compliance issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.

  • 4+ years experience in an IT customer support role, with a strong interest in customer service.

  • Experience working with Information Technology operational processes, customer support processes, and vendors.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, G Suite).

  • Working knowledge of a variety of technologies and platforms (operating systems, computer hardware, and software).

  • Experience with endpoint management tools and software.

  • Experience with SOC compliance and audit processes is highly desirable.

  • High-level customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage, and perform multiple tasks with multiple deadlines, responding quickly to changing priorities.

  • Ability to work and think independently to troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; must be able to speak and write clearly.
