Mark Fichtner

Principal Software Engineer at TrackX Technology

Mark Fichtner has over 28 years of work experience in the software engineering field. Mark began their career in 1993 at Intel as a Small Team Manager and Senior Developer, where they managed a team that produced graphics driver debug tools, BIOS editor, and a platform-wide device-driver installer. Mark also implemented and optimized image processing algorithms, including interpolation and machine registration, and developed a scriptable, camera-firmware test bench. In 2006, they moved to Marvell as a Small Team Manager and Senior Software Engineer, where they managed a team responsible for software used in hosting silicon validation and automated build and testing. Mark also produced a three-tier, grid-computing system in C# and developed a circuit marginality test platform for graphically viewing the effects of varying temperature, voltage, and frequency on silicon products. In 2007, they moved to Space Dynamics Laboratory as a Software Engineer, where they multithreaded and optimized data processing sections of code, enabling support for Navy imaging analysis software. Mark also added data acquisition and analysis support for the Air Force's Global Hawk unmanned aircraft, writing parsing code for Global Hawk's image transmission format and creating 3-D transform models for geo-rectification. In 2008, they moved to Intel as a Senior Software Engineer, where they constructed Catalyst, a WPF-based, charting application for visualizing factory automation data. Mark implemented WPF virtualizing panels, axes controls, X-Y scatter plot controls, data transformation routines, and LINQ-based data access routines. Mark also embedded R into Catalyst in order to add a standard statistical language and proven mathematical algorithms. In 2011, they moved to Marvell Semiconductor as a Staff Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented Aries, an interpreter written in C++ that generates several artifacts from templates and a single data source. Mark also designed Serenity, a statistical analysis system. In 2016, they moved to Wells Fargo as an Application System Engineer (Capital Markets Technology), VP, where they architected and designed an access control system capable of supporting multiple accounts per user, entitlements, entitlement-user intersection data, and a full audit system incorporating request and certification history. Mark also implemented an Asp. In 2021, they moved to Slalom as a Senior Consultant, where they worked with a client to optimize a large, monolithic 3-tier application. Mark used APM-software, database metrics, and source code to prepare several proposals ranging from architecture changes to code fixes and work-arounds. Mark also completed an Asp. Currently, they are employed at TrackX Technology, Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer.

Mark Fichtner obtained their Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan between 1989 and 1993. Mark also holds certifications from LinkedIn, including "Agile Product Owner Role: Foundations", "Building Modern Projects with React", "Building Serverless Apps on AWS", "Excel Business Intelligence: Data Modeling 101", and "Vue.js 3 Essential Training" obtained in June 2021, as well as "Amazon EC2 Fundamentals" and "Azure Essential Training for Developers" obtained in May 2021. In addition, they hold an Instrument Rating from the Federal Aviation Administration obtained in December 2015, and a Private Pilot License from the Federal Aviation Administration obtained in February 2002.
