Martin Chaffee has extensive experience in satellite communications, network/circuit engineering, and technical support. Martin has worked for various companies such as Trace Systems, Apptis (now part of URS Corporation), SAIC, and the US Army. Their roles included program manager, network/circuit engineer, telecommunications engineer, network controller/operator, first sergeant/facility manager, European SATCOM manager, operations supervisor, satellite network controller, SATCOM operations and maintenance supervisor, and SATCOM ground station operator. Their responsibilities ranged from providing system engineering and technical support to managing the overall operation of a wideband satellite network control center and leading teams that performed preventive and demand maintenance on multiplexing equipment, modulation equipment, high power amplifiers, and antenna tracking systems.

Martin Chaffee received their high school education from Fairport High School between 1982 and 1986, but did not obtain a degree or any specific field of study during this time. Between 1993 and 1997, they attended the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they obtained a BS in Psychology. In addition, they have also obtained several certifications, including ITIL Foundations v3 from ITIL Certified, the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, Security+ from CompTIA, and Network+ from CompTIA.
