Steven Smolyn

Historic Preservation Commission Architect at Township of Montclair

Steven Smolyn, AIA, serves as the Historic Preservation Commission Architect for the Township of Montclair since January 2024, and holds the position of Senior Associate Principal at KPF since June 2016. In addition, Steven has been a Commissioner on the City of Hoboken's Historic Preservation Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment since 2019, advising on historic district applications and zoning variances, respectively. Prior experience includes teaching as a Teaching Associate at Cornell University, various internships spanning notable firms such as KPF, Handel Architects, and the NYC Department of Design and Construction, and a foundational internship at The Rosen Group. Steven obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University between 2011 and 2016, following a high school diploma from Summit High School in 2011.
