Aly Sparks, PE has a diverse background in engineering and environmental research. Aly is currently working as the Deputy Public Works Director/Town Engineer for the Town of North Kingstown. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Engineer for the Town of Westerly, RI, where they managed and oversaw water construction projects and assisted with ordinance revisions. Aly also has experience as a Project Engineer at Tighe & Bond, where they worked on various projects across New England, including wastewater treatment facilities upgrades and fuel storage tank removals/replacements. Aly gained research experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Researcher at the University of New Hampshire, where they assisted with course material and conducted research on environmental pollution and protection. Additionally, Aly worked as a Research and Development Intern at PWN Technologies, where they conducted research on manganese removal during ceramic microfiltration. Aly also has experience as an Environmental Outreach Intern at the University of Rhode Island.
Aly Sparks, PE has a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, which was obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering with a Geology Minor from the same university, from 2010 to 2014. Aly also briefly attended the University of Wollongong in 2013. Additionally, Aly obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from NCEES in 2019, and the Engineer in Training certification in 2015.
