Blythe Purdin is an experienced educator with a focus on early childhood education, currently serving as a Kindergarten Teacher for the Town of Nantucket since August 2019. Previously, Purdin held a similar position at Nahant Public Schools from August 2007 to August 2019, managing a culturally and academically diverse classroom and helping students achieve individualized academic and social goals. Purdin has also contributed to the Massachusetts Teachers Association as a Senate District Coordinator, facilitating communication between educators and legislators on education issues. In addition, Purdin has served as a Virtual Professional Community Facilitator for the NEA and participated in the Teach Plus/NEA Future of the Teaching Profession Fellowship, developing policy recommendations for member engagement. A graduate of Salem State University and The George Washington University, Purdin holds advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education and Educational Leadership.
