For over a decade, Dr. Tim Sherwood’s hardware security expertise has spanned both industry and academia. Since 2003, he has been a professor in the department of Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara, where he leads an award-winning, government-funded research lab focused on the development of novel computer architecture for security, monitoring and control. Dr. Sherwood was the recipient of the 2009 Northrop Grumman Teaching Excellence Award, the National Science Foundation Career Award and the ACM SIGARCH Maurice Wilkes Award. He graduated from UC Davis in 1998 with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering and holds an M.S. and Ph.D. from UC San Diego (2003).
