R. Drew Giacalone is a Systems Integration Engineer at Torc Robotics, where employment has been ongoing since July 2020. Previously, R. Drew Giacalone served as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Assistive Robotics Lab from January 2017 to July 2020, focusing on developing a Virtual Reality Force Feedback System. Experience includes a Robotics Engineer Co-Op position at Torc Robotics, enhancing internal tools with Python, and a Paint Project Time Study/Simulation/CAD Co-Op role at Volvo Group, where paint thickness measurements were conducted. As a Drone Pilot for Roof Top Services, R. Drew Giacalone integrated drone technology into operations after gaining FAA certification. Early involvement with FIRST Robotics teams included serving as Mechanical Lead and Head Builder, contributing significantly to robotics competitions. R. Drew Giacalone holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, completed in 2020.
