Shay Li has a diverse work experience that spans several companies and roles. In 2017, Shay worked as a Research Intern at Case West, where they wrote programs to organize data, conducted meta-analyses on cancer risk, and coded a bot for web-scraping. In 2019, Shay returned to Liminal Esports as an Independent Contractor. They later joined the company as an Independent Contractor again in 2020, where they conducted research and wrote a technical report for federal funding. Shay also worked at Toppings, starting in 2021. They first served as a UI Designer, redesigning the app interface and reducing churn. They are currently employed at Toppings as a Cofounder and the Head of Product.

Shay Li attended Hathaway Brown School from 2016 to 2020, during which no degree or field of study is specified. Following this, Shay Li enrolled at Harvard University in 2020 and is expected to complete a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science + Statistics by 2024.
