John Macris has extensive experience in risk management and financial services. John is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Tongo since January 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Risk Officer at Aliya Financial Technologies from June 2016 to January 2021.

Before joining Aliya Financial Technologies, John Macris worked at Barclaycard as the Chief Risk Officer, UK Cards from June 2013 to June 2016. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Fraud Modelling at Lloyds Banking Group from March 2011 to June 2013.

John Macris also had experience in customer strategy, having worked as the Director of Customer Strategy at Western Union from September 2009 to March 2011. Additionally, they founded and served as the CEO of Magpie Partners from February 2008 to September 2009.

Earlier in their career, John Macris held the position of Senior Director at Capital One from September 2000 to January 2008. John also worked as an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group for a brief period. Beginning their career, they were a Senior Consultant at Gemini Systems, Inc from 1995 to 1998.

John Macris attended Cornell University from 1989 to 1994, where they pursued a BS in Operations Research. John furthered their education at The Wharton School from 1998 to 2000, earning an MBA degree.
