Terry Carroll currently serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer for Tompkins County since June 2021, focusing on the county's Energy Strategy and net-zero emissions goals. Previously, from April 2016 to May 2021, Terry worked as the Clean Energy Communities Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, where responsibilities included managing the NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities Program and advising municipalities on energy initiatives. Terry also held the position of Energy Educator, fostering community engagement around solar energy adoption. An AmeriCorps VISTA member at Vermont State Forests, Parks and Recreation Department from August 2014 to August 2015, Terry developed partnerships for a new State Park and secured funding for environmental programs. Terry's foundation in environmental policy was enhanced through an internship at the World Wildlife Fund, and academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in International Relations and a Master of Science in Public Relations from Syracuse University, along with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from SUNY Geneseo.
