Bolek Kurowski has held a variety of positions in the IT field since 2006. From 2006-2007, they were an IT Consultant & Developer for Semisul Polska Sp. z o.o., where they identified business requirements, processes and functional specifications, and digitized the HR management system. From 2006-2007, they were also an IT Consultant for Cafe Adi Sp. z o.o., where they independently pursued programming expertise to develop and implement a daily management and reporting system for a chain of coffee shops. From 2006-2011, they were a Database Analyst for Intelligent Technologies S.A., where they managed a crucial BSS/OSS system with over 1 million new records monthly. From 2011-2012, they were a Risk Manager for the Pittsburgh Penguins, a Technology Consultant for Technology Consulting in the Global Community, and an Architecture Consultant and Web Developer for WonDay Inc./Bracketz. From 2012-2014, they were a Data Manager for Cambridge Education, where they managed software development, designed, managed and implemented a web database platform, and allowed the company to scale from 400K surveys up to over 4 million. From 2014-2017, they were a Data Engineer for MeYou Health, where they helped people eat better, walk more, quit smoking, and make small but meaningful changes. Finally, from 2017-present, they are a Lead Software Architect and Data Engineer for Tolemi, where they help government teams unlock and understand their own data assets to enhance their decision-making and daily work.
Bolek Kurowski has a diverse educational background. Bolek obtained their Masters in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011. Bolek obtained their B.S. in Computer Science from the Warsaw School of Information Technology between 2006 and 2010. Prior to that, they attended Warsaw University of Technology, studying Mechatronics between 2004 and 2006. Bolek also holds an Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
