Dawn Gaines currently serves as a Senior Manager at TNTP, a role held since February 2013, where responsibilities include designing and overseeing recruitment strategies for national teacher and school leader preparation programs, developing assessment systems, and collaborating with district partners to overcome recruitment challenges. Prior experience at TNTP includes roles as Program Manager and Program Associate, focusing on recruitment effectiveness and supporting high-need schools in talent management processes. In addition, Dawn Gaines founded and presides over Piece by Piece Leveling the Playing Field, an organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of inner-city youth by providing essential resources. Prior to these roles, Dawn Gaines worked as a substitute teacher for Shelby County Schools from 2009 to 2013. Educational credentials include studies at The University of Memphis.
