David Muñoz began their work experience as a Resident Assistant at Elon University Residence Life in 2009. David then worked as a Senior Intern for the Annual Programs at Elon University Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life from 2011 to 2012. After that, they served as a Herpetology Teaching Assistant at Elon University from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, they worked as a Biological Intern for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, focusing on turtle telemetry and habitat management. David also held positions as a Seasonal Wildlife Research Technician at Utah State University and The Ohio State University in 2012 and 2013, respectively. From 2013 to 2020, Muñoz worked in various roles at Penn State University, including research and equity specialist and graduate research assistant. David also worked as a Curriculum Specialist and Instructor for Penn State University Upward Bound in 2019. In 2020, Muñoz started their own consulting business, David Muñoz Consulting, specializing in community and organizational change, collaboration and coordination services, and scientific and environmental technical services. Since 2021, they have been working at TNTP, first as a Senior Manager of Analytics and currently as an Analytics Director.
David Muñoz completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ecology from Penn State University in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the same university in 2015. David started their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental and Ecological Sciences from Elon University in 2012. Additionally, they hold certifications in College Teaching from Penn State University (obtained year unknown), Environmental Project Management from Elon University Center for Environmental Studies (obtained year unknown), and Basic North American Mammal Tracking from Dr. Jim Halfpenny - A Naturalist's World (obtained year unknown).
