Devin Boom is a Senior Scientist and Lead Scientist for Circular Electronics at TNO since January 2020, focusing on sustainable hydrometallurgical processes for extracting critical metals from e-waste. Devin's work includes selective metal separation technologies and the isolation of high-value products, with initial projects involving spent lithium-ion batteries, PV modules, and printed circuit boards. From November 2013 to March 2019, Devin served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in synthetic organic chemistry at the University of Amsterdam, where research focused on sustainable methane activation through free radicals and main group compounds. Prior experiences include roles as a PhD student and researcher at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, coupled with various internships in chemistry and polymer science. Devin holds a Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Amsterdam and a Master’s degree in Molecular Design, Synthesis, and Catalysis from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
