Holly Sharer is currently a Direct Support Provider at Toward Maximum Independence since August 2023 and a Library volunteer at San Diego Public Library since January 2022. In addition to these roles, Holly has been a Pet Sitter with Rover.com since March 2018 and recently served as a Resource Helpline volunteer for NAMI from July to September 2023. Previous experience includes working as a Peer Support Specialist at Deaf Community Services of San Diego, where peer-to-peer meetings and support groups were facilitated, and involvement in the San Diego Deaf Festival Committee as an Advisory Committee Member focused on creating accessible resources for those experiencing abuse. Holly has volunteered with Planned Parenthood of Southern California and Autism Speaks, held a writing position at the Center for Sutton Movement Writing Inc., and dedicated time as a stay-at-home parent from December 2013 to April 2018. Educational background includes studies at Gallaudet University, Model Secondary School for the Deaf, Indiana School for the Deaf, and San Diego Mesa College.
