Melissa van Gelderen has a diverse and extensive work experience. Melissa started their career at Simplot Australia as an Assistant Divisional Accountant before becoming a Divisional Accountant. In these roles, they managed a team and was responsible for various accounting tasks including reconciliation, reporting, and budgeting. Melissa then moved on to IIOC B.V as the Head of Reporting and Analysis where they handled the overall reporting and analysis functions. Melissa later joined TMF Group as a Financial Controller in Structured Financial Services. Their most recent role was at TIP Trailer Services, where they held various positions including Senior FP&A Analyst, FP&A and External Reporting Manager, and Strategic Finance Director.

Melissa van Gelderen attended the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2016 to 2017, where they completed an Open programme in RSM Executive Education with a focus on Essentials of Leadership. Prior to that, they earned a Masters degree in Accounting from Monash University, studying from 2002 to 2005. In their earlier years, Melissa attended Swinburne University of Technology from 1994 to 1997, where they attained a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Accounting and Vietnamese.
