Ali Wolfe has worked in a variety of roles since 2005. In 2005, they began their career as a Teacher at New York City Public Schools, where they taught and assessed approximately 120 low-income students per week in social studies, reading, and writing. Ali also mentored and provided support to students with social and emotional challenges. In 2007, they moved to Common Good as an Education Policy Associate. From 2009 to 2012, they held the position of Policy Associate at the Center for Teaching Quality, where they convened and supported hundreds of teachers and coached them to become leaders. In 2012, they became a Field Instructor at Phoenix Outdoor & SUWS of the Carolinas, where they provided for physical and emotional safety of approximately 10 students per week. In 2013, they began their Graduate Student role at UNC School of Social Work and their Intern role at Durham Public Schools, where they provided therapy and case management to 15 students and led two student groups. In 2014, they joined Carolina Outreach, LLC as an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist, Intensive In Home Specialist, and Intern, Independent Living Program. In 2016, they also became an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist at Aspire Counseling Group. Finally, in 2018, they took on the role of Leader at Tinkergarten.
Ali Wolfe completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Georgia in 2005. Ali then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Teaching from Pace University, which they completed in 2007. In 2013, they earned a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and also obtained a Substance Abuse Certification from UNC.
