Carson Coggins, GISP has a diverse work experience in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Carson is currently working as a Technical Analyst at Timmons Group, where they support and consults on the implementation of GIS solutions for a variety of clients across the public and private sectors. Carson designs and develops multi-user concurrent editing offline field data collection workflows and provides GIS industry best practices for government entities.

Previously, Carson worked as a Production Specialist at Partner Software, where they designed and constructed an ESRI-based custom ArcGIS Web Mapping Application for the Utility industry. Carson provided extensive training to utility cooperatives on leveraging GIS analyses and Partner Software applications for infrastructure design and management. Carson also managed multiple simultaneous long-term projects with exemplary attention to detail and a process-oriented approach.

Before that, Carson worked at Meyers Research as a Public Record Research Analyst. Carson conducted extensive research using publicly available spatial data and official records to model real estate trends and patterns. Carson led the creation of a nationwide Master Planned Community database and developed best practices and workflows for future GIS projects.

Carson also has experience as a Spatial Analyst at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, where they worked on data management solutions related to the North Carolina Central Cancer Registry. Carson'swork included large-scale geocoding and ensuring data integrity for epidemiological research.

Furthermore, Carson has prior experience as a Student Intern on the Cambridge Retrofit Project in the City of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Here, they researched, planned, and organized initiatives to reduce carbon emissions in the city.

Additionally, Carson had a summer internship with the United States Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee, where they researched and compiled pertinent information for upcoming meetings with various interest groups, including union groups, Native American groups, Pacific Islander groups, and Environmental Policy groups.

Carson Coggins, GISP, has an extensive education history focused on Geographic Information Science (GIS) and Political Science. From 2017 to 2019, Carson attended North Carolina State University, where they obtained a Masters of Geospatial Information Science and Technology, with a specialization in GIS. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2014, Carson completed a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science and Cartography at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Earlier in their academic journey, Carson earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they attended from 2010 to 2013. Before attending UNC Chapel Hill, Carson briefly studied Political Science and Government at Clemson University in 2009 and 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Carson has obtained various certifications related to GIS. These certifications include "Introduction to Surface Modeling Using ArcGIS," "Python Scripting for Geoprocessing Workflows," "Building Models for GIS Analysis Using ArcGIS," "Creating and Sharing Content Using ArcGIS Online," "Referencing Data to Real-World Locations Using ArcGIS," and "Basics of Python (for ArcGIS)." These certifications were obtained from the institution Esri between November 2016 and April 2017. Carson also holds a certification titled "Network Analysis Using ArcGIS."
