Dean Vaknin is an experienced security professional currently serving as the Director of Global Security at TIME since June 2023. Previously, Dean held the position of Director of Corporate Security at BuzzFeed from July 2022 to July 2023, and was the Director of Security at Industry City from February 2021 to January 2023, where responsibilities included coordinating security activities on the campus. Dean's career also includes significant experience at the Consulate General of Israel in New York, serving as Security Operations Manager and Security Specialist from May 2014 to May 2021. Prior military experience includes serving as a Field Intelligence Sergeant and Commanding Course Commander in the Israel Defense Forces from November 2010 to November 2013. Dean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Cybersecurity from Baruch College and an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
