Angus Harris

Head of Technology at Tiliter

Angus Harris has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Angus started their career in 1996 as an Online Publisher at Deutsche Bank AG, where they updated and maintained multiple Australian websites and distributed research to clients. From 2001 to 2004, they worked as a Software Engineer for the Royal Australian Navy, providing engineering support for naval weapons systems.

In 2004, Harris joined Thales Australia as a Software Engineer and later became a Software Team Lead, managing software work for projects like the AIR87 Simulator Project. Angus successfully resolved long-term design and software issues for this project. From 2009 to 2021, they held various roles at Thales Australia, including Systems Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager, leading teams and managing projects related to communication systems and control systems for rail and metro networks.

In 2016, Harris co-founded Bounce, where they focused on building IoT infrastructure technology for autonomous vehicle navigation. Angus also participated in the CSIRO ON Startup Accelerator 2018 Program.

Currently, Harris is employed at Tiliter as the Head of Technology. Tiliter is a Sydney-based tech company that specializes in computer vision products using artificial intelligence. Harris is involved in disrupting industry practices and creating accessible computer vision products.

Angus Harris completed their Master's degree in Engineering (Software & Information Systems) at the University of Technology Sydney from 2004 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechatronics) from the University of Sydney, which they attended from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their formal education, Angus also acquired two additional certifications: a Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) from Scrum.org in August 2016, and a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE in September 2016.
