Aaron Young has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and genomics. Aaron is currently working as a Staff Software Engineer at Tilia since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Linden Lab as a Senior Software Engineer from April 2021, and previously as a Software Engineer from December 2013. At Linden Lab, they developed new features for the Desura.com website using PHP and CodeIgniter, and their notable accomplishment includes creating a customizable widget for customers to buy games directly from developer's websites. Before their software engineering roles, Aaron worked as a Laboratory Technician at Advanced Studies in Genomics, Proteomics, and Bioinformatics from August 2009 to August 2013. In this role, they managed DNA and genotyping customer samples, and performed sequencing runs on NGS technologies like Roche 454 GS FLX+ and Ion Torrent PGM systems.

Aaron Young completed their education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Aaron obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology from 2003 to 2007. Later, they pursued their Master's degree in Microbiology from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, Aaron attended the Coding Dojo Programming Boot Camp, although no specific start or end year is provided for this experience.
