Simone Mercuri has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Director at Tilden Park Capital Management LP in 2020. Simone previously worked at BGC Partners as a Director, where they were the Head of the IPV Quantitative Team and worked on developing a greenfield numerical library for Interest Rates derivatives. Prior to that, Simone was a Vice President at Wells Fargo Securities, managing a team of quants and implementing a multi-factor Libor Market model. Simone also worked as a Lead Quantitative Analyst at CRISIL Global Research & Analytics, where they led a group of quants and worked on various projects related to model testing and monitoring. Before their career in finance, Simone worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher in Theoretical Physics and Applied Epistemology at CNRS and as a Post-doctoral Researcher at Pennsylvania State University. Simone also served as an Associate Researcher at Université de la Méditerranée. Simone's academic background includes a PhD in Relativistic Astrophysics from La Sapienza University of Rome. Overall, they have extensive experience in quantitative finance, research, and team management.

Simone Mercuri pursued a Master's degree in Physics at the University of Rome, which was completed by the end of 2003. Following this, Simone entered the PhD Physics program, specializing in Theoretical Physics - Relativistic Astrophysics, from 2003 to 2006. As a result, Simone earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in International Relativistic Astrophysics.
