Ashwini Chhabra is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in urban technology innovation and public policy. Currently serving as the Director of Urban Tech Innovation at Cornell Tech since August 2024, Ashwini also contributes as a board member for both the World Music Institute and Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School since 2023, and holds the position of angel investor, supporting startups from pre-seed to scale-up since 2019. Previously, Ashwini was the Chief Public Policy Officer at TIER Mobility from 2021 to 2024, co-founded Electric Avenue in 2020, and provided advisory support to The Routing Company. Notable roles include Senior Director and Global Head of Public Affairs at Bird from 2018 to 2020, and Director of Global Head of Policy Development and Self-Driving Policy at Uber from 2014 to 2018. Ashwini has also been a founding member of the Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets. Educationally, Ashwini holds a JD from Yale Law School and a BA in Political Economy from Williams College.
