Paul Stelder has a diverse work experience, starting in 1998 as an Alderman and Deputy Mayor at Gemeente Venlo, where they were responsible for real estate, planning, and infrastructure. Paul then became a Board Member at Stichting de Maaspoort in 2005. In 2008, they joined Waterschap Peel en Maasvallei as a Member of the Council. In 2010, they became an Advisor at e-Carnavalskleding.nl. In 2015, they joined Verdygo BV as a Member of the Supervisory Board. In 2016, they became a Member of the Supervisory Board at Rabobank Venlo e.o. Lastly, in 2004, they became the CEO of Antares, a housing company that builds and rents out homes in northern Limburg.

Paul Stelder attended Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 1975 to 1978 and obtained a HBO degree. Additionally, they attended Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences from 1976 to 1979 and received a Bachelor's Degree. No specific field of study for either degree is provided.
