Derrick Morton is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience across multiple organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Thrivent, Derrick develops features for internal applications and enhances user experiences. Previous roles include Senior Software Engineer II at Extend, where Derrick created new features using a design system, and Lead Software Engineer at Fiserv, leading a team in the development of digital banking software for over 1,500 financial institutions. Derrick has also contributed as a Software Engineer in Residence at Galvanize Inc, teaching best practices in JavaScript and React, and has experience with various technologies and methodologies across numerous projects, including UI development at DataScan Technologies and web development at the CDC. Derrick holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has completed advanced training at Hack Reactor.
