Mirthe Gerets has a diverse work experience starting in 2011 with various student jobs at Stad Antwerpen - GATE 15, including PR and press roles. In 2014, they completed internships in Germany, focusing on tourism, marketing, logistics, and sales. In 2017, they interned at the Permanent Mission of Belgium to the United Nations and the Embassy of Belgium in Norway and Iceland, where they gained experience in foreign affairs. In 2018, Mirthe worked as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission and as a Privacy and Data Protection Consultant at CRANIUM Privacy & Security. From 2019 to 2021, they served as an Internal Auditor at the Service Fédéral d'Audit Interne [FAI] - Federale Interneauditdienst [FIA]. Mirthe currently works as a Project Management Consultant at Threon, starting in 2021.

Mirthe Gerets began their education in 2011 at Hogeschool PXL, where they pursued a Professional Bachelor's degree in Office Management, Business Translating and Interpreting. Mirthe completed their studies in 2014.

Afterward, in 2014, Mirthe enrolled at the University of Antwerp to pursue a Master's degree in Multilingual Professional Communication. Mirthe successfully completed this program in 2016.

Following their Master's degree, Mirthe returned to the University of Antwerp in 2016 to pursue another Master's degree, this time in International Relations and Diplomacy. Mirthe completed this program in 2017.

In 2019, Mirthe enrolled at UC Leuven-Limburg to pursue a Postgraduate degree in Business Analyse. Mirthe completed this program in 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Mirthe has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they received a certification in "Fachausbildung Stressreduzierende Kommunikation - Gesundheitsforderung und Salutogenese" from GesundLand Vulkaneifel GmbH in Daun, Germany. In 2018, they obtained a "DPO Certificate" from CRANIUM Campus. Most recently, they obtained a "Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)" certification from the Project Management Institute in April 2022.
