Research Scientist II, Modus Outcomes at THREAD research

Sarah W. has extensive research experience, with their most recent role being a Research Scientist II at THREAD since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Leeds from 2012 to 2022. During their time at the university, Sarah held two research fellow positions. In their role as a Research Fellow in Cervical Cancer Screening Behaviour Change, they designed and tested behavior change interventions to increase cervical cancer screening. Sarah utilized online surveys and interviews to understand reasons behind non-attendance and developed and evaluated two interventions. Sarah also collaborated with the cervical cancer screening program to administer the intervention. In their other role as a Research Fellow in Prostate Cancer Outcomes, they worked on a project investigating the quality of life of men following a prostate cancer diagnosis. Sarah analyzed data from over 30,000 men and authored publications for academic journals, as well as disseminating data to the public and stakeholders. Prior to these roles, Sarah worked as a Data Collection Assistant on Smoking in Adolescents from 2012 to 2016.

Sarah W. completed their BSc in Psychology at the University of Hull from 2009 to 2012. Sarah then pursued an MSc in Health/Medical Psychology at the University of Leeds from 2012 to 2013. Afterward, they continued their education at the University of Leeds, where they obtained a PhD in Psychology from 2013 to 2017.
