Michael McLaren is a seasoned tax lawyer and tax partner at Thorsteinssons LLP, operating in the Vancouver and Toronto offices since May 2004. McLaren's legal expertise centers on corporate and international tax planning, advising multinational corporations on various issues including investments, mergers, acquisitions, and natural resource taxation. In addition to legal practice, McLaren co-founded LifeFront Corporation in January 2021, serving as CEO and Director, focusing on innovative non-dilutive financing solutions for the life sciences sector. McLaren is also a member of the editorial board for the International Tax Provisions of the Canadian Income Tax Act at Wolters Kluwer Law & Business and served on the board of Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver from 2011 to 2012. Academic credentials include an LLB in Taxation from Western University and a B.Sc. in Genetics and Mathematics from the University of Victoria.
