Abu Bediako, MSc, is an accomplished geotechnical and hydrogeological engineer with extensive experience in the mining sector. Currently serving as Senior Engineer - Geotech and Hydro at Thor Explorations Ltd since November 2021, Abu provides technical leadership in managing geotechnical hazards and supports mine planning with compliance to mining regulations and safety objectives. Previously, as Superintendent Geotechnical Engineer at AngloGold Ashanti, responsibilities included managing geotechnical systems and liaising with senior engineers on complex issues. Abu has also held positions at Geomechanical Services, Noble Gold Bibiani Limited, SRK Consulting, Xstrata, Golden Star Resources Ltd., Perseus Mining Limited, and Newmont Mining Corporation, developing expertise in slope angle optimization, dewatering management, and project management. Abu holds a Master of Science in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from Cardiff University and a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
