Chris Gerben, PhD has a diverse work experience in the fields of marketing, branding, and communications. From 2021 to present, they have been the Director of Brand Marketing and Vice President of Marketing for ThirdPartyTrust, a BitSight company. In this role, they have scaled the Marketing and Go-To-Market function of the start-up and reported to the CEO/Founder. Chris has also managed graphic design, web development, product marketing, content strategy, PPC, SEO, events, PR, and business development (BDR) functions.

Prior to their current role, Gerben was the Founder, Communications and Branding Strategist for Read Write Design from 2011-2021, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University from 2013-2019, the Vice President of Marketing for Smokeball - Legal Software from 2019-2021, a Content Strategy Lead and Content Strategist for Omobono from 2018-2021, a Global Social Media Manager for Kearney from 2017-2018, an Assistant Professor at St. Edward's University from 2015-2017, a Freelance Content Creator for Qnary from 2016-2017, a Contributor (Contract) for This American Life from 2016-2017, and a Lecturer at Stanford University from 2012-2013.

Chris Gerben, PhD began their educational journey at the University of Michigan, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing in 2001. Chris then attended the University of Notre Dame, where they received their Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Poetry in 2003. Finally, they returned to the University of Michigan, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in English and Education in 2012.
