Elaine Ng

Elaine Ng is the Chief Executive Officer of TSNE. With over 30 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and education sectors, Elaine is focused on creating opportunities for growth and stabilization for the nonprofits that rely on TSNE’s services.

Prior to joining TSNE, Elaine was the Strategic Planning Director for Special Education for the Boston Public Schools. In this position, Elaine was responsible for building organizational capacity in special education, and to facilitate and work across the district to build inclusive opportunities for students with disabilities. Elaine was also formerly the Executive Director of the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC), the region’s largest Asian American social service organization. She joined the BCNC staff in 1993 and became executive director in 2006. During her tenure, she oversaw the dramatic growth of the organization and its programs — garnering the organization national recognition as an honoree of the White House Champion of Change award. Under her leadership, BCNC successfully transitioned to a new Silver LEED-certified facility, streamlined operations, created a sustainable financial model, and expanded services into the City of Quincy.

Elaine has won several honors, including Tuft University’s President’s Award for Citizenship and Public Service, the United Negro College Fund’s Rising Stars Award, The Boston Foundation’s ChangeMaker Award, and is a Barr Fellow. Elaine enjoys mentoring in the areas of organizational development and management was also a Senior Fellow for Boston University’s Institute for Nonprofit Management and Leadership, supporting the skill development of senior staff and executive directors. Elaine has also served on numerous boards and committees including the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the BPS School Quality Working Group, and the Chinatown Community Land Trust.

Raised in Boston’s Chinatown and a graduate of Boston Public Schools, Elaine holds a dual Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts in English and Asian American Studies and a Master’s in Public Policy from Tufts University.
