Jacob Wirtz has worked in various roles in the engineering industry since 2009. From 2009 to 2010, they held the role of Floor Assistant at Performance Team. In 2010, they became a Student Staff at the Accessibility Resource Center at California State University, Chico. In 2013, they interned at the California Mechatronics Center. From 2014 to 2015, they held the role of Design Mechatronics Engineer at G-Lakes Manufacturing, where they created SolidWorks models, performed SimulationXpress analysis, and 3D-printed components. Jacob also developed and tested the control logic and electrical layouts for equipment controls. From 2015 to 2016, Jacob worked as an Engineer I at Edwards Lifesciences, where they assisted senior engineers in designing fixtures in Creo Parametric and wrote programs in Visual Basic for data compilation in Excel. Jacob also developed and executed tests for new and improved design concepts, processes, procedures, and test methods. Finally, from 2016 to the present, Jacob has held the roles of Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Robotics Software Engineer, and Software Integration Engineer at THINK Surgical.

Jacob Wirtz graduated from California State University, Chico in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronic Engineering.
