Sowmya Venugopal has an extensive work experience spanning several companies and industries. Sowmya currently holds the position of Director of Product Management at Therapy Brands. Prior to this, they worked at Brightree as a Sr Product Manager. Sowmya also served as a Product Manager at Syntellis Performance Solutions and nThrive, where they also held the role of Product Owner. Earlier in their career, Sowmya worked as an EHR Business Analyst at McKesson and as a Sr. Information Analyst at Improvement Path Systems. Sowmya gained further experience as an Information Analyst at EDS, an HP Company, and as an MIS - Information Analyst and Rotational analyst at Comerica. Sowmya's professional journey began as a Graduate Student at Oakland University and as a Programmer at TKS Isvaran.

Sowmya Venugopal holds a Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce and Accounting from the University of Madras, which they obtained from 1993 to 1996. Sowmya went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in General Studies from Oakland University between 2002 and 2004. Sowmya then completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Management Information Systems (MIS) and Financial Information Systems (FIS) at Oakland University from 2005 to 2007.

In addition to their formal education, Sowmya Venugopal has also obtained several certifications. Sowmya earned the Pragmatic Certified Product Manager certification from Pragmatic Marketing in April 2012. Furthermore, they became a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) through the Scrum Alliance in January 2021.
