Michael Parkinson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Michael most recently worked at GSK as an Investigator starting in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Scientist at Theolytics starting in 2020. From 2015 to 2020, they held the position of Senior Scientist at UCB, where they were involved in protein engineering and format design for therapeutics. Michael also has experience as an Advisor at Sanacion & Salud from 2013 to 2014. Earlier in their career, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Cancer Research UK from 2010 to 2013, where they investigated the roles of Rab GTPases for axonal retrograde transport. Michael also had brief research experiences as a Guest Researcher at Tokyo University of Science in 2011 and as a Researcher at Cambridge Institute for Medical Research in 2010. Additionally, they worked as an Admissions Assistant at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2006 and 2005, where they processed student applications and provided application support.
Michael Parkinson completed their high school education at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys from 1995 to 2003. Michael then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol from 2003 to 2006. Following their undergraduate studies, Michael went on to earn a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 2006 to 2009.
