Jennell began their career in 2006 as a Seasonal Volunteer at Forgotten Harvest, where they were involved in administrative tasks, fundraising sales, and food packing. In 2008, they worked as a Post Production Assistant at Stone & Company Entertainment, providing support to the production and post-production teams for TV shows. Jennell also served as a Bookstore & Resources Team Volunteer at Oasis Christian Center and a Visual Arts Volunteer at Oasis Church - Creative Arts Team in 2009 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2019, Jennell worked as a Private Tutor at School on Wheels, Inc., supporting students with their academic needs.

In 2019, they joined Hope United Methodist Church Southfield, MI as a Worship Support Coordinator, Social Media Admin., and Receptionist, where they handled various responsibilities related to worship services, social media management, and front desk duties until 2022.
