Hildie Block is an experienced writing workshop leader and educator with a diverse background in literature and creative writing. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Cat Herder and Book Midwife at Hildie Block's Workshops since 2006, Hildie specializes in managing writing workshops and focuses on book-length projects and high school admissions essays. Hildie's role as a Writer/Workshop Leader at The Writer's Center since 2004 highlights expertise in fiction, world building, and story structure. Hildie has held teaching positions at American University and Johns Hopkins University, contributing to the academic community from 1999 to 2017. Additional experience includes roles in admissions and web content coordination at Johns Hopkins and membership marketing at the American Geophysical Union. Hildie holds an MA in Writing, Fiction from The Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Economics from American University.
