Susan McCarty is an accomplished academic and writer with extensive experience in creative writing and literature. Currently an Assistant Professor at Oakland University and Salisbury University, Susan specializes in teaching undergraduate courses, particularly in literary non-fiction. With a writing career that spans over two decades, Susan is known for short stories and essays, exploring innovative and hybrid narrative structures. Susan's previous roles include serving as an instructor and fellow while completing a PhD at the University of Utah, as well as editorial positions at various independent presses. Susan holds a PhD in English/Creative Writing from the University of Utah, an MFA in Fiction from Vermont College, and a BA in Anthropology and English from Wellesley College.
