Jan Helge Pile has extensive experience in the maritime industry, starting their career in 1983 with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Jan Helge held various deck-side positions and was promoted to Chief Officer and Staff Captain during their tenure. From 2002 to 2007, they worked as a Technical Maritime Director for Tide Sjo A/S, managing a fleet of passenger ships. Jan Helge then joined Color Line as SVP Marine & Technical, overseeing marine operations and technical divisions. In 2020, they gained sea-time and re-certified their navigator's license before working as a Captain and Chief Officer for Boreal Norge AS and Norled AS, handling ferry crossings in Norway. Currently, they serve as Vice President, responsible for ISM management and Marine & Technical operations for M/V "The World," the largest privately owned residential yacht on earth.
Jan Helge Pile obtained their MSc in Marine Engineering & Naval Architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 1986 and 1990. In 1991, they pursued further education at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, specializing in Nautical studies and earning a degree as a Master Mariner.
