David Faris is a contributing writer for Slate Magazine and Newsweek since November 2022 and June 2022, respectively, and has been an associate professor of Political Science at Roosevelt University since July 2010. Additionally, David writes for The Week and has previously served as a strategy group advisor for the Meta-Activism Project. Academic experience includes a tenure as a lecturer in the Critical Writing Program at the University of Pennsylvania from September 2001 to August 2010, as well as roles in various capacities such as course designer and teaching assistant. David holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Political Science and Writing from Drew University. Areas of focus include Middle East politics, democratization, and ethnic conflict.
