Wayne Verno

Manager Of Weather Presentation at The Weather Channel

Wayne Verno has extensive experience in meteorology and broadcast meteorology. Wayne started their career as a Meteorologist at the Carnegie Science Center, where they analyzed weather conditions and provided forecasts for WPXI Channel 11. Wayne then worked as an Instructor and Consultant at Mississippi State University, teaching courses in Broadcast Meteorology and assisting with distance learning courses. Wayne also worked as an On-Air Meteorologist for WCBI-TV, where they produced weather graphics and delivered on-air weather broadcasts. Wayne then became an Instructor at California University of Pennsylvania, where they developed new meteorology courses and implemented new television equipment. Wayne later joined Mississippi State University again, this time as the Director of the Broadcast Meteorology Program. In this role, they led the academic program, conducted student advising, and taught upper-level courses. Wayne's most recent position was as the Manager of Weather Presentation at The Weather Channel, where they created weather graphics and provided weather briefings to television producers and on-camera meteorologists.

Wayne Verno completed their education in two stages. In 1993, they attended PennWest California, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Earth Science with a specialization in Meteorology. Wayne spent four years at this institution, graduating in 1997. Following this, Wayne furthered their academic pursuits at Mississippi State University from 1997 to 1999, where they obtained a Master's degree in Geosciences with a focus on Broadcast Meteorology.
