Doug Merrill has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Doug started their career in 1994 as a Manufacturing Management Program Trainee at GE Transportation. Doug then worked at GE Energy, where they held various positions including Manufacturing Integration Leader, Manager of Shop Operations, Financial Analyst, Six Sigma Black Belt, and Quality Technical Leader. In 2005, they joined Husky Injection Molding Systems as an Operations Manager, leading a team of over 200 employees and implementing process improvement projects. From 2008 to 2015, they held multiple roles including President at Manufacturing and Supply Chain Strategies, Independent Director at Orbit/FR, and Director of Plant Operations at Dynapower Company, LLC. In 2012, they co-founded Sunward Systems LLC and served as the Co-Founder and COO until 2014. Doug also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Vermont from 2009 to 2013, teaching courses on Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Systems. Since 2013, they have been a Director on the board of Washingtonian Magazine, focusing on long-term business strategy and providing guidance to the publisher. Since 2016, they have been the CEO of SemiProbe, a company that designs and manufactures testing equipment for the semiconductor industry, with a focus on R&D, analytical, and low-volume production applications. Throughout their career, Doug Merrill has demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, operations leadership, process improvement, and business strategy.
Doug Merrill attended Cornell University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Applied and Engineering Physics. Doug continued their education at Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management from 1989 to 1991, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Operations Management. Additionally, while pursuing their MBA, they also pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University, completing it in 1990.
