Patricia Lagarde has extensive work experience in the field of art and museum curation. Patricia is currently serving as a Wieler-Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at The Walters Art Museum. Prior to this, they worked as an Archivist and Curator for Centennial Projects at Tulane University's Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Patricia also served as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Patricia has teaching experience as an Instructor of Record and Teaching Assistant at Tulane University from 2016 to 2020. Patricia was a Fulbright-Hays Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education in 2019. Patricia has also served as a Curator and Project Director at Tulane University's Latin American Library. Patricia's previous roles include Development Director at Le Petit Theatre Du Vieux Carre, Executive Assistant to the Director and Volunteer Coordinator at the New Orleans Museum of Art, and Digital Collections Manager at The Middle American Research Institute at Tulane University. Additionally, they worked as a Contract Researcher at Randi Korn and Associates, Inc., where they conducted analyses of museum-goers' experiences and evaluated programs at various museums.

Patricia Lagarde began their educational journey at Texas Christian University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, Studio Art, and Sociology. Patricia attended from 2003 to 2007. Following their undergraduate studies, Patricia pursued a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology at The Catholic University of America from 2007 to 2009. After completing their master's degree, they continued their academic pursuits at Tulane University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Art History and Latin American Studies, with Distinction. Patricia'sdoctoral studies spanned from 2015 to 2022.
