Social Media Director at The Volume

Kerry Nelson has a diverse work history with experience in social media management and production roles. Kerry's most recent position was as a Senior Social Media Manager at The Volume, starting in March 2022. Prior to this, Kerry worked as a Social Media Producer at FOX Sports from November 2021 to March 2022. From September 2018 to November 2021, Kerry held the role of Social Media Producer at Religion of Sports, where they launched the brand's digital presence, created brand messaging and produced digital content. Kerry also worked at ESPN, starting as a Social Media Specialist in January 2017 and later becoming a Content Associate. In these roles, Kerry created content for various social media platforms, collaborated with the design team, and worked on marketing campaigns. Before joining ESPN, Kerry had internships at Wake Forest University, where they worked in sports marketing and media relations, and at the Atlantic Coast Conference as a runner for the ACC Championship Game. Kerry also gained experience as a Social Media and Marketing Intern at SportsBoard, where they managed social media accounts and developed the company's brand platform. Additionally, Kerry worked as a Runner/Production Assistant at NBC Olympics for the London 2012 Olympics and as a Store Front Manager and Research Intern at Appia, conducting market research and merchandising. Kerry's work experience also includes a summer role as a Camp Counselor for UNC Women's Soccer in 2010.

Kerry Nelson attended Wake Forest University from 2010 to 2014, where they studied Communications, specifically focusing on Communication and Media Studies. In 2013, Kerry also participated in the Duke in Silicon Valley Program at Duke University, which provided them with knowledge and skills related to building and sustaining successful enterprises.
