Bee Gibson has extensive experience in software development and engineering roles. They started their career as an intern developer at the Bureau of Meteorology in 2012. They then worked as a developer and industry-based learning student at QSR International, where they developed a Mac application for qualitative research. At REA Group, they worked as an IT graduate and later as a Ruby developer, where they developed APIs and web apps using Ruby and collaborated with tech leads to form technical designs.

Following this, Bee joined the Bureau of Meteorology again as a software engineer and later as a senior software/devops engineer. In these roles, they led the adoption of version control, continuous integration (CI), and code reviews within their team and developed applications for examining meteorological model outputs using Python. They also contributed to the operationalization of a Tropical Cyclone forecasting system.

Bee then worked as a software developer on contract at the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), where they developed applications for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) reps and union organizers using Python and Django. They also migrated existing applications to Google Cloud Platform.

At Infoxchange, Bee served as a backend software developer and later as a development team lead. They worked on the health and welfare service directory and managed the Service Directory and Search team.

They also worked at Canva as a software engineering lead, leading the Internal Apps team and managing up to 4 engineers. Their team developed apps primarily using Python, Flask, and JS, with a React app as well.

Most recently, Bee joined The Volte as a senior software developer.

Bee Gibson attended Monash University from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Additionally, Bee Gibson has received additional certifications in Leading Engineering Teams from Blackmill Consulting in March 2023 and Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from Scrum Alliance in June 2019.
