Steve Hinton is a seasoned conservation scientist with extensive experience in habitat restoration and environmental advocacy. Currently serving as a Conservation Scientist for The Tulalip Tribes since February 2021 and as the Director of the Salish Alliance since January 2020, Steve Hinton focuses on regional climate change responses and the conservation of natural resources. Prior experience includes a long tenure as Director at the Skagit River System Cooperative, where Steve Hinton managed habitat restoration projects for tribal communities, and a role as Habitat Ecologist for Snohomish County, targeting Pacific Salmon restoration. Additionally, Steve Hinton co-owned Bellingham Pasta Company and was involved with Oregon Trout as a Riverkeeper Coordinator. Steve Hinton holds a Master’s degree in Science & Technology Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Washington State University.
