Michael Goncalves has a strong background in technology and travel, with experience in various roles and companies. Michael is currently the Director of Technology at The Travel Team, where they oversee technology operations. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Automation and Online Technologies at Omega World Travel, managing the mid-office and online booking tool team. Michael also served as the OBT Travel Solutions Lead at Direct Travel, responsible for multiple online tools. Earlier in their career, Michael worked as the Technology Director at BTI Travel and as a Product Manager at Omega World Travel. Michael also gained experience in call center operations at Working Solutions and as an Operations Manager at Tata Business Support Services. Michael's early career involved environmental planning and engineering in the aviation industry at URS Corporation and Wyle.
Michael Goncalves graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management. In 1997, they also obtained a certification as a Commercial Pilot with a Single Engine Instrument rating from the Federal Aviation Administration. Over the years, they have obtained several additional certifications related to travel and expense administration, including becoming a Certified Concur Travel Administrator from SAP Concur in January 2019, a Cytric Travel and Expense Administration certification from AMADEUS NORTH AMERICA, INC. in March 2018, an IQCX certification from Cornerstone Information Systems in October 2015, an Amadeus e-Travel (AeTM) Administrator certification from Amadeus IT Group in September 2014, and a Sabre's GetThere String Certification from Sabre Travel Network in May 2013.
