Hardware Developer at The Things Industries

Orkhan Amiraslan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Orkhan currently works at The Things Industries as a Hardware Developer, starting in 2020. Prior to this, they founded and managed Makerspace Azerbaijan LLC, a Maker and Electronics community aimed at promoting the maker culture in Azerbaijan. Starting in 2018, Orkhan worked at Enoba as a Lead Hardware Developer, where they focused on creating AI-driven solutions for the construction industry. Orkhan also gained research experience at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), where they worked as a Researcher from 2015 to 2020. Before that, Orkhan worked as a Research Assistant at DFKI GmbH - German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence from 2013 to 2015. Orkhan started their career as an Instrument and Control Engineer at BP in 2011, assisting with engineering support and gaining knowledge of various systems and processes. Prior to joining BP, Orkhan worked as an Electrical Engineer at Santral Electric LLC from 2008 to 2011.

Orkhan Amiraslan has an extensive education history in the field of engineering. Orkhan obtained their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Automation and Process Control from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, where they studied from 2007 to 2012.

Continuing their studies, Orkhan pursued their Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Embedded Computing Systems. In 2012, they attended the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) for a year before transferring to RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau in 2013, where they completed their Master's degree.

In addition to their formal education, Orkhan has obtained certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2021, they received certification in "The Things Certification - LoRaWAN Fundamentals" from The Things Industries. More recently, in 2022, they acquired certification in "Introduction to Embedded Machine Learning" from Edge Impulse.
