Steve Costner has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting roles. Steve started their career at H&R Trains Inc. in 1994, where they served as General Manager/Accountant. Steve was responsible for payroll, accounts payable, inventory control, and issuing financial statements. Steve also worked as an Accountant at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County from 2002 to 2004, where they processed payroll, assisted with audit preparation, and prepared budgets. Steve then joined the Children's Board of Hillsborough County again in 2009 as an Accounting Manager, overseeing a team of three professionals and managing the chart of accounts. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of Finance Director at the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, where they were responsible for managing a department of finance professionals, coordinating budget development, and overseeing audits. In 2019, Steve became the Chief Financial Officer at The Spring of Tampa Bay.
Steve Costner completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration in Executive Leadership from Liberty University from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a 150 credit hour Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in accounting from the University of South Florida, graduating between 2000 and 2005.
